Rehabilitation Center "Rostok Zhizni" provides a full range of services for correctional and rehabilitation work with the help of hippotherapy, reflex massage, physical therapy, psychological assistance for children, adults and people with special needs; the scope of services also includes the rehabilitation of cerebral palsy in Ukraine.

The main advantage of hippotherapy is the creation of the soil for the hypothalamus to produce happiness hormones - endorphins. These hormones have analgesic properties, increase immunity, which stimulates the internal reserves of the body. Carefully studying the results of the use of hippotherapy for various diseases, medical scientists have identified several programs that differ from each other. Depending on the problem, an appropriate method of hippotherapy treatment is applied.

Forms of hippotherapy

• Psychosomatic education. The combination of the healing qualities of riding a horse with elements of care and communication. In these courses, the child learns self-service skills, improves visual-motor coordination. Also formed the manner of communication and behavior. Stiffness of behavior, fear of peers disappears, and a sense of self-confidence develops.
• Physiotherapy. Learning to sit correctly, maintain balance, coordinate and synchronize movements forces the spine to take the correct position. With this therapy, muscles that are inactive in the normal rhythm of life are included in the work. The posture is leveled, and the pathological muscle tone is removed. The elasticity of the articular ligaments and tendons returns, which makes all movements smooth and measured.
• Sports with the disabled. One of the sections of the program includes a course of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in caring for horses, with the aim of further employment. What is important for a person with disabilities, gives him confidence in the future.

Children must be over 8 months of age to start classes.

A neuropathologist, a psychiatrist, a hippotherapist and an equestrian instructor are examined. It is also necessary to pass a series of tests for allergies, blood clotting and others. Only after a complete examination, a special individual training program is drawn up.

Absolute contraindications are:

• Allergy to animal hair or sweat, or to hay pollen.
• Osteoporosis (increased fragility of bone structures).
• Spondyloarthrosis.
• Hernia of the lumbosacral spine.
• Bone necrosis.
• Obesity.
• Increased intraocular pressure.
• Retinal detachment.
• Open cuts (even a small scratch can cause serious illness, especially if the child is not vaccinated).
